I just LOVE
re~making
re~doing
re~using
&
re~cycling.
Especially when I can make something
pretty
&
{you guessed it!}
*pink*!
And if I can stick a
rose
on it
Well....
that just makes my day :)))
So here's today's project all done up.
An old floor lamp that got left behind when my youngest
daughter
Chelsea
got married.
Mainly because it no longer has a switch on it.
There is a slot for one behind the handmade
clay button which I glued a plastic rose to.
I just plugged it into a power strip
that has an on off switch.
Yesterday I purchased some
Anne Sloan Chalk Paint in
Antoinette
&
now it has a new home next to my
Crocheting
Knitting
Reading
Chair
in my upstairs office.
I found this divinely comfy chair
back in the Winter
at the local thrift shop for just a few dollars.
This is what the fabric looks like
but I am not a lover of yellow and orange
{nothing against those of you who are}
I just always have to
make mine
pink
when possible.
Or green with pink roses in this case!
So I dug out this old quilt and tucked it around
then topped it off with a butterfly doily
&
tossed a pretty pink
heart shaped pillow on it.
And now I'm
Happy!
Beautiful lamp Danette, you've done a wonderful job. Your knitting chair lots very cosy and inviting xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen!
DeleteIt is wonderful. I know you understand the pursuit of the right chair. Our bodies get stiff and sore in so many of them.

A comfy chair, a great recycled light and crochet, sounds perfect to me.

Meredith
It sure works for me :)))

Lucky find with the chair. Perfect for your own special little spot. :)
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! I love it. I am like Goldilocks when I am on the hunt for a chair for myself due to my rheumatoid arthritis. 9 1/2 out of 10 don't work for me!

Hi there! Your makeover is perfect. I'm trying to locate Annie Sloan paints for a few projects I have around here.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your oil lamp...squeal. :)
There is a new little Vintage type shop just across the street from my house and about a half a block up. That's where I found the Annie Sloan paint and I LOVE IT!!!
DeleteI will show my oil lamp today or tomorrow especially for you!

Danette
