I've taken a trip to
Versailles
this week~
well....okay....
not really.
But I have painted everything
that didn't get out of my way
in this lovely shade of
Versailles
green.
Before
After :)))
I am in love with this
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!
I have the most charming Vintage store
~Second Betty's~
just across the street
about a half a block up from my house.
And it is owned by the most delightful couple ~
Mike and Cindy.
Not only do they have lovely items of all sorts,
they also carry this fabulous paint.
I purchased this dining room table about 3 years ago
from another shop downtown when it closed.
The owner had used it in her farmhouse at one time.
Although I love it, I always intended to paint it.
I am quite happy with the fresh new look!
I think I will purchase a can of
Old White
and repaint the legs with it.
While in the midst of my painting frenzy,
I happened to spy a coffee table sitting on the curb 2 doors over.
The young man is moving out and no longer wanted it :)
So....
I helped myself!
This is what it looked like.
Ick!!!
But NO WORRIES....
I had plenty of paint left.
This is what it looks like now :)))
It's just perfect under the window in my upstairs office.
I really needed a place for my overflow of books
{and, of course, a few more pretties}.
So~
What have all of you been up to this fine week?
P.S. My Mother began to worry I might paint the dogs if they didn't stay out of the way.
Well... there is still some paint in the can.....
WOW Danette, Your Chalk Paint Make-Overs are absolutely fantastic.. What a transformation with all the wood pieces..I would like to do my Kitchen table and I think this paint might do the trick... Thanks for showing the photos to us all. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy!
DeleteA little paint makes a big difference :) I do love this paint. It has no odor and dries real fast. You do have to put a special coat of wax on it afterwards ~ then buff it the next day. It's very pretty when done.
Have a great week,
Danette
You are a painting Queen! Everything looks great. I love the coffee table, with all your yarny things under it in baskets. Well done my friend,
ReplyDeleteMeredith
Thank you Meredith!
DeleteThe coffee table really adds to my storage. And it was free ~ Gotta love that!
Have a grand week My Dear,
Danette
haven't they come up a treat. I will have to track down the chalk paint here in Australia - great finishes with it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you!
DeleteIt was fun and easy. You will love it if you can get ahold of some. It is originally from the UK. Have a lovely week!
Danette
Your freshly painted furniture looks so pretty Danette!(it's very addictive, isn't it?) How lucky that you can purchase the paint so close by too. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with books overflowing everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday,
Susan x
Hello Susan!
DeleteIt IS addictive! Of course I can hardly move the last couple of days as it has flared my rheumatoid arthritis but..... it was worth it! I DO LOVE the results fresh paint delivers :)))
And I have books, books, and more books! They are all over my husbands office as well!
Happy Week,
Danette
Everything looks great with that color. Keep the dogs away, just in case. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Will do Kar!

Fabulous makeover Danette. It's amazing what a tin of Annie Sloan paint can do to tired, old furniture.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Ruby!

Danette
Your makeover results are fabulous. I've been wanting to try Annie Sloan paints on a few pieces of furniture that I'm not too happy with due to the color. Yours give me hope. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And definitely try some. It is wonderful to work with and I love the colors.

Hi Danette! I'm glad you friended me on Ravelry and then I found your blog! Fun!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you have a lot of the same interests as I do. I have a lot of the same books! I like that chalk paint, too. A lot of our daughter's contemporaries have fun with it! Come on over to my blog and say hello. I'll put your blog on my blog roll so I can see all your new posts.
I should knit today. I have knitter's block (and crocheters block!) at the moment!
Hello Pom Pom!
DeleteI love your blog! We do seem to have a lot in common :) I just messaged you back on Ravlery. Hope you get over all that blockage! I hate it when that happens. Hope you got a nap in today also :)
xoxo
Danette
Hi again Danette! Oh silly me! I see that you've already been to my blog and for some reason I just got your comment. All published now, all good.
ReplyDeleteYay!
:))))))
DeleteLove love the color. I am a big fan of chalk paint. I use CeCe Caldwell's http://cececaldwells.com/. I don't know how you do it...get so much done but I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh my Genie!
DeleteI don't get as much done as you think....
well not as far as real housework or cooking or those kind of things ;)
Love you,
Danette
