Queen of Hearts

I'm beginning to feel like the
Queen of Hearts.
In the last couple of weeks I have made more
knitted & crocheted hearts
than ever before.
And I have loved
every single stitch!
I had a little help with this one.
Mercedes jumped into to help when it was time to make the rose :-}
This is my Valentine to my sister.
Bridget loves Valentine's Day.
I found the link to the pattern
on Attic 24.
The sweet little rose is Lucy's pattern for
May Roses.
You can find it
Another new pattern I have fallen in love with is this
Rosy Heart
This crochet pattern can be found at
I am working on a hat for my friend Erin's little girl Eliza.
Miss Eliza and I are good buddies :-)))
She was born one day before my birthday.
This June
she will turn 3
& the next day I will turn 50.
Friendship is always a matter of the heart;
not bound by age.
I will show you all the hat when I get it done.
It's my current WIP.
Erin and her family live across the street from me.
She has 4 daughters {Eliza is #3}.
For Valentine's Day
I crocheted each of them a small
heart-shaped washcloth.
I used Queensland BeBe CotSoy for these on a size 6 needle.
They are so soft
and just the right size for little hands.

I have been blessed to be on the receiving end of a couple of gifts myself.
This darling red crocheted heart was made for me by my dear friend
Mary Anne.
She made one for each of us in our little Monday night knitting group.
Another very dear friend
Krista
gave me this fabulous jar with a heart on the front.
I love both of these gifts so much!
{I must confess ~ I bought the mini rose bush while grocery shopping this morning.
 I can never resist them once they hit the market.}

And there's one last heart I have year round that I must show you...
Miss Phoebe
{a.k.a. The Spotted Beast}
has a heart on her side.
Really...
She is all heart!

Remember the
Heart Bunting
I made for my granddaughter
Gabby?
This is how the conversation went when I gave it to her yesterday...
"Grammy!!!"
I said,
"Do you like it?"
"I don't like it
I love it!!!
It's Beautiful!!!"
Well...
you can't ask for more than that!

Whatever this magical day holds in store for you,
I wish each & every one of you
a
Very

Thanks Girls!
I LOVE it all :)))

Bunny Blather

Hello Everyone!
Here I come again with some more
Bunny Blather :)))
I can't seem to help myself...
I am completely obsessed with
Bunnies
these days!
They keep falling off my knitting needles
 by day
&
running amuck through my dreams
 by night.
As I look around my house
I realize that this is not a new obsession.
I have so many bunnies peeking out from
various nooks and crannies.
I love these snow baby bunnies!
This one is nestled between my favorite mixing bowls.
Here's another one smiling from the mantle in my dining room.
Notice the picture of
My Dear Hubby
Scott
&
Our Precious Granddaughter
Gabby.
Oh!
And here's a happy little one atop my china cabinet.
Isn't her sweet little backside just darling?!!
She shares space with this lovely porcelain pair.
This fella was a gift several years ago.
He was handmade by the giver.
My favorite kind of gift!
This wee cast iron bunny takes up residence in my foyer
in the Winter months....
but he enjoys the fresh air of  my garden,
at the base of my bird bath,
once Spring arrives.
And for a few more knitting needle delights
Bunny Egg Cozies
Sweet Baby Bunny Hats...
Flaunting fluffy tails!
A few magnets
{the other pretties are old earrings of my Mother~In~Law}
Love this sweet set!
It was a gift from my Mother~In~Law
when I had my first baby nearly 28 years ago.

The bunnies keep reproducing daily around here.
There are several of them hippity~hopping all over my
Well....
I really must leave you now....
A little blue bunny awaits his ears
so he can be brought
magically
to life.
Hoppy Weekend to All!

Flower Garden

So great is my love for flowers, especially roses, that no matter what else I am working on I sometimes have to just create a little bloom in the midst of everything else. When I do this and don't have an actual purpose for the flower I just knit or crocheted I always add it to this wonderful, heavy glass jar that was a gift from a friend years ago. I think it originally had a candle in it. I like it better with my hodge podge flower garden growing inside!
Just like my little cottage garden outside, this one is forever changing. I am constantly putting in and taking out. It's so nice to have a fresh supply to go to when I need to pluck a flower to embellish a hat or bag or even a tea cozy.

Flowers are just one of those things that keep me inspired.
And like many of you, my pattern source grows continuously. The first place I look to for a pattern for beautiful blooms is one of my favorite books ~
100 FLOWERS TO KNIT & CROCHET
BY LESLEY STANFIELD
It was a gift from my Dad a couple of years ago. Once again, Thanks Dad!
