As I said in my last post...
I just LOVE Cables...
Can't get enough of them!
So here's a few more of my recent
Cabled Goodies

This is my favorite pattern for
It's from this book
It's a quick and easy knit,
which makes it perfect for last minute
gift giving.
These Mitts have been a huge seller
for me at Craft Shows.
I always make them with

It's a fabulous fiber blend of
55% Merino Wool
25% Superfine Alpaca
&
20% Donegal Tweed
It's ultra Soft, Cushy and Warm.

And just
One More Thing

Can't help myself.

Knitting & Napping in the Sunshine

Yesterday was a Glorious Day...
A day of Golden Sunshine...
Warm Breezes...
Autumn Leaves...
&
Fabulous Fall Smells.
Mercedes
{a.k.a. Miss Puddin' Tat}
and I made the most of it...
We sat in our favorite Sunny window
in the kitchen.
While I sipped tea and knitted the afternoon away,
She catnapped and relished in the
Rare Treat
of lying in an open window on a
November day
in Illinois.
My friend Eugenia
calls her my
Fall Kitty
because of her beautiful
Autumn coloring.
She really is lovely, isn't she?!
When I got up to make another cup of tea
I turned back around to find she had settled into a new
napping spot.
Ummm....
Excuse ME...
But I think that's MY spot.
She loves to curl up in my favorite
places throughout the house
the moment I get up.
So...
I nestled her onto my lap
{which is what she's always hoping for in the first place}
and finished my knitting.
A Triple Cable Rolling Brim Hat
with a cute
Top Knot.
I just love
Cables...
Can't get enough of them.

And the great thing about this hat is...
the
Cable Panel
runs up the back side as well.
My Sister dropped by with her sweet
Grandson Eli
who is 14 months old.
So I got to try the hat on him.
Look at those cheeks!

This darling hat is size 12-18 months.
It's going on my Etsy Shop today.

Happy Day to You All,
Be Blessed

The Time Has Come...

The Time Has Come
to talk of many things ~
just not of
shoes and ships and sealing wax
nor
cabbages and kings.
{That was SO last week!}
This week is full of its own beautiful things :)
Like this sweet vintage looking
Little Dress Potholder
I just added to my

AND ~
The newfound
freedom
of my precious
Baby Bunnies.
They were with me for 5 full weeks.
Remember?
This is where we started.
And now look at the chubby girls!
At ll:00 a.m. yesterday
Daisy & Violet
were released back into my garden.
It was a
sweet
happy
{and a little bit sad}
day.
My Son~In~Law
Eric
came over to video tape
Miss Gabby
&
Grammy
setting them free.
I tried to upload the video so you could all see the
Big Event.
However, I cannot get it to happen......
I will contact a Son~In~Law to get some help
and get back to you on that!
It was a lot of fun.
We spotted them several times throughout the day
running and playing together
&
eating in my garden
alongside the Mommy and Baby Squirrels.
And they have been seen a couple of times today.
I am so filled with joy that they survived and have
made it through their first day and night
out where God intended them to be :)))
Ahhh...
Life truly is GOOD!

And NO Girls ~
you CAN'T have rabbit stew for dinner!!!

Rose Trellis Scarf

I have crocheted a new scarf for my
Although its made of wool, alpaca and angora
it's very lacy and airy.
I think it's a good year round scarf,
depending on the climate someone lives in.
It's very
foo~foo
&
pink
&
rosy
&
downright
*GIRLIE*
Aaahhhhhhh.....
all of my favorite things :)
At 72 inches long there is enough length to wrap it anyway you like it.
There's just something so feminine about
soft pink
&
just barely
off white.
I love the slightly diagonal effect the weight of the roses give the shape.
And, of course, I adore the sheer splendour
of the
soft
sumptuous
ROSES
So ~
Even though this could be worn all Winter long,
because of the overall
delicate
feel of it,
I think it steps nicely into early
Spring.

I hope your days are filled with
sunshine
blue skies
&
ROSY
thoughts of
SPRING!

Bunny Blather

Hello Everyone!
Here I come again with some more
Bunny Blather :)))
I can't seem to help myself...
I am completely obsessed with
Bunnies
these days!
They keep falling off my knitting needles
 by day
&
running amuck through my dreams
 by night.
As I look around my house
I realize that this is not a new obsession.
I have so many bunnies peeking out from
various nooks and crannies.
I love these snow baby bunnies!
This one is nestled between my favorite mixing bowls.
Here's another one smiling from the mantle in my dining room.
Notice the picture of
My Dear Hubby
Scott
&
Our Precious Granddaughter
Gabby.
Oh!
And here's a happy little one atop my china cabinet.
Isn't her sweet little backside just darling?!!
She shares space with this lovely porcelain pair.
This fella was a gift several years ago.
He was handmade by the giver.
My favorite kind of gift!
This wee cast iron bunny takes up residence in my foyer
in the Winter months....
but he enjoys the fresh air of  my garden,
at the base of my bird bath,
once Spring arrives.
And for a few more knitting needle delights
Bunny Egg Cozies
Sweet Baby Bunny Hats...
Flaunting fluffy tails!
A few magnets
{the other pretties are old earrings of my Mother~In~Law}
Love this sweet set!
It was a gift from my Mother~In~Law
when I had my first baby nearly 28 years ago.

The bunnies keep reproducing daily around here.
There are several of them hippity~hopping all over my
Well....
I really must leave you now....
A little blue bunny awaits his ears
so he can be brought
magically
to life.
Hoppy Weekend to All!

A Restful Week

Hello Everybody!
I pray you are all having a
Lovely
Happy
&
Healthy
Week
I am a bit under the weather here...
Gabby had, as she calls it "a bit of the sniffles" last week.
Looks like she inadvertantly shared them with Grammy
So I am staying tucked in the house
Crocheting
Reading
Sipping Hot Tea
Snuggling Gabby when she is here {and my Doggies!}
And falling behind on Housework!
have managed to get a few new items listed on
So, all in all, I guess a little down time is not too bad.
And soon I should have a pretty Green Shawl all done up to show you all.
I am trying to stay tuned into your blogs as best I can between naps and stitches!
Be Well All!
And know that when I am silent here
I carry you all in my
Thoughts
&
Prayers

Lacy Shells Baby Shawl

Yes! A Dinosaur Egg really can become a Baby Blanket! Remember that MONDO ball of yarn I was so excited to find? Well it did finally hatch itself into a lovely blankie  {a few weeks ago actually ~ I just realized I forgot to show you all!}. So here's the BEFORE picture again:
I love the fact that it was a continuous feed of yarn that didn't require adding new skeins and working new ends in. Just like knitting from those wonderful cones of yarn. Makes the working time faster and the finished product smoother. And then of course, the real frosting on the cake is  when it's over it's over. So... without further ado.....the finished product....
Hope you like it as much as I do! I'm crazy about the vintage feel the lovely shade of beige lends it. I put it up for sale on my new {and still tiny!} Etsy Shop ~ Front Porch Knits.
Happy Fiber Frolicking {and whatever else you get your fingers in to} To All Of You Today!

Sweet Baby Bunny Hat

I can't get enough bunnies in my life these days! I love bunnies year round. I always have. They're just so darn cute! But in the Springtime, especially as Easter approaches, my days are filled with creating the darling little critters. Every year I make these bunny hats to sell and they are always very popular. This one is on my new Etsy Shop ~ Front Porch Knits. I'll take a few to the local boutique this week also.

I am knitting them out of a lovely blend of pima cotton and silk that is delightfully soft. I love the sheer ribbon bows tied around the ears for the Little Miss. This hat can also be worn by the Little Mr. just as easily by simply removing the bows. And the real kicker? The fluffy pom pom cotton tail in the back!
