To Market, To Market

I'm in a whirlwind of activity here...
Knitting needles, crochet hooks
&
Yarn
are flying in an absolute storm around me
as fast as I can make them go!
On September 12, 13 & 14
I will have a booth at the
Craft Faire
at our local
Pumpkin Festival,
along with my Monday night knitting girls :-)
We are so excited!
Anyone local can look for us under my business name ~
Front Porch Knits.
I had these darling tags custom made on an Etsy Shop.
There will of course be plenty of Pumpkin items for sale.
These are made from the Knit Picks patterns ~
Clove {crocheted}
&
Spice {knitted}
But you know me...
I can't show up without plenty of sweet little baby items as well.
Some covered baby hangers...
A pile of  baby hats...
The pattern for these can be found right
And some booties for precious piggies.

These are just a sampling of my wares.
I will try to squeeze out the time to show some more before it all goes.
In the mean time,
Mr. Parker,
{look how fast they grow!}
my 3 month old grandson,
is keeping me busy
Wednesday through Friday,
as his Mommy has returned to work.
A week ago Tuesday we had another new baby in our family.
My sister is now a Grammy for the first time.
Elijah Wade
born August 18
weighing a whopping
10 lbs. 6 oz. !!!
And my daughter Hilary is expecting her baby boy in a week or so!
PHEW!
It's a real good thing I love to make baby items :-)

Happy Holiday Weekend to All of You,

The Frosting On My Cake

Oh My Goodness ~
I've been in a
whirlwind
here!
I cannot believe it has been so long since my last post.
Since Easter I have been on the fast track.
So today I have a real hodge podge of
things to tell
&
things to show.

Just after Easter my sweet little granddaughter
Gabby
turned 6 years old.
This is a picture of the cake Grammy made for her party.
She wanted it piled high with lots of
*pink*
frosting :)))

My sister had a Girl's Luncheon on Gabby's birthday to celebrate.
This is Gabby and Me in Bridget's lovely home.
After lunch I joined Chelsea & Gabby for a
Big Birthday Event ~
Gabby got her ears pierced.
She did fabulous!
On the same day I recieved this in the mail.
I was tickled
*pink*
In the midst of all else I have been nursing along 2 of my babies.
Jose' {my little chihuahua} has a torn ACL
and
Sophie {my old girl dachshund} has a urinary tract infection
plus they are checking her for diabetes.
I should find out about that today sometime.
Those of you who are doggie lovers
please say a prayer for my babies.

As usual
through it all
my hands have kept busy
{in order for me to survive!}
with yarn.
I have been stocking my
with some covered baby hangers.
I found this beautiful basket
at the local thrift shop for next to nothing last week.
I have also been crocheting these darling potholders.
This red and white one looks so pretty
hanging with my aprons.
Here's another one I need to finish...
{you know how that goes!}
But first I am going to finish knitting this little
 Baby Hat
Can you see the sweet
Winnie the Pooh
stitch marker?
I have always LOVED Pooh!

Well...
That's all the
Frosting On My Cake
these days.
What's happening in your little corner of the world?

Oh ~So~ Charming!

Recently I made some knitted baby hanger covers and really liked them. Then I decided I would crochet some instead and I must admit I like the finished product much better and will be doing it this way from now on.

Knit Picks Shine Worsted is one of my favorite yarns for various baby items therefore I usually have quite a variety of it in my stash {although it is time to restock ~ yay!} and I have discovered yet another thing it is really nice for now.  So using that and a size F hook {I am a loose crocheter/knitter} I chained 11 stitches and after turning the first row continued to chain 1 and single crochet 10 stitches every row for approximately 48 rows or about 10 inches ~ to cover the hanger. Of course this could be adjusted for an adult sized hanger as well.

Then I added a little rosebud and leaf to the top center but the possibilities for embellishment are endless. I just happen to love roses for anything and everything I can use them on! Anyway, I think they are Oh~ So~ Charming!
"I haven't much time to be fond of anything," says Sergeant Cuff. "But when I have a moment's fondness to bestow, most times...the roses get it."
