Dance of a Swan

Feathers float over her ballerina bun.
Artistic makeup adorns her fresh, pure face.
Her young dancers body is transformed into a fairy swan
with all its white flounce and silver sparkle.
She sits to slip ballet shoes in place.
All that's left to do is wait...
Act 2
Dance 2
By A Lake, Ballet
 from Swan Lake
Music by Tchaikovsky
Peoria Ballet Company Academy Performance

We sit enraptured through the magical show.
Every dance and each graceful movement on the stage
sweeping us along.
Then, finally...
There She is...
Our Beautiful Swan.
Dancing.
So many emotions.
So few words to describe them.
We have been watching the dance of this swan since she was three.
She loves ballet like she was born knowing it somehow.
I think maybe God sprinkled some fairy dust in the blueprint of her soul.

"Passion is universal humanity.
Without it religion, history, romance and art
would be useless."
Honore' De Balzac

Be My Valentine

There is happiness in my
heart
today!
I am just
tickled pink
with the way the
Valentine Bunting
I made Gabby has turned out :)))
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3
In this picture I draped it over
a window I salvaged from an old shed
Scott tore down in our backyard in July.
On Monday I had it hanging over the french doors
leading to my dining room where I spend every
Monday evening
having the time of my life
with my
Knit Night Girls :)))
They loved all the happy little hearts!
I attached a pewter stitch marker
{with hearts on it}
to each end for ease in hanging.
Not only does it slip over a nail
but it gives a bit of weight to each end
in case my daughter wants to simply drape
it over Gabby's bedroom window
and not use any nails.

The pattern is actually written to be used as individual coasters.
I kept a few out for that purpose as well,

They were addictive to make.
As soon as I finished one
my crochet hook was digging into another one!

Before long I had quite a collection of hearts :)))
is where you can find the pattern.
Trust me~
You'll be
hooked!

Guess that's all for today Friends!
{I was planning to wait for Valentine's Day to show you this bunting
but found I couldn't wait another moment :) }
Hope you are all
Happy
Healthy
and
Creating
all sorts of lovely items today.

Baby Shells

I crocheted this baby blankie for
my granddaughter
Gabby
who is now a whole 6 years old.
Does time ever fly?!!
I ran across it this morning
and realized I had never taken any photos of it.
The darling wicker buggy it is draped over
is a gift Grammy found at an antique store
when Mommy was expecting Gabby.
There's just nothing quite like baby things.
Everything that has to do with babies is always so
soft
&
pure.
And I love to wrap new baby's in crocheted shells.
Hope you are all having a beautiful day!

P.S. In case anyone has noticed
I am having Picasa Web issues.
On Sunday I nearly had a heart attack
when I realized that all of a sudden almost all
of my past blog posts no longer have any pictures!
I am working on trying to get them back.
If anyone has any clue as to what I should do
PLEASE HELP!!!
