Crochet Bug Bite

Oh My Goodness!
Here I go AGAIN!
I now have 3 knitted Left fingerless mitts lying about and what happens?
A little
Crochet Bug
 came along and bit me!
Well, really it's Mary Ann's fault.
She just had to whip out this scarf she was working on while she was here for Knit Night on Monday evening ~ and those girls know I can't resist a new pattern!
So ....
I got to digging around in my yarn stash first thing Tuesday  morning and
I just happened to have some lovely
Knit Picks
that I thought would be perfect for this fun scarf!
Such pretty colors!
Mermaid Lagoon is the name of the colorway.
And the pattern sort of resembles swimming fish.
My Mom says they look like cornucopias ~
She's right, they do.
It's hard to tell now but when the scarf is completed it is just gorgeous all wrapped around a neck and cascading down. It flows beautifully.
The pattern is from
The Best of Interweave Crochet
Kathy Merrick
and is called the
Boteh Scarf
Methinks it will make some lovely Christmas presents!
{Along with at least 3 more fingerless mitts!}
*Oh! And I'd like to state for the record ~
I did NOT sneak off to the yarn shop again.
This was in my stash :)

Hello, my name is Eugenia/Genie. I am a friend of Danette. I was born in the Azores. My Portuguese is not the best but I enjoy practicing. Thank you for commenting. Danette is one of the nicest people.

    2. Thank you so much! I got Eugenia to translate for me. I appreciate the compliment :) Hope your week and weekend have been fabulous.

  2. What a dramatic scarf pattern! I haven't seen one like that before. Can't wait to see it finished. I bet it works up fast, too.
    Have a great week!

    1. I've never seen one like it either, which of course is part of the reason I just HAD to do it! And it is pretty fast to do :) I will show it as soon as it is done.
      Have a great week yourself!

  3. Isn't it fun when you see something you like, you have all the supplies at home and can just get to it? That yarn is beautiful, and shows off the movement of the pattern. It's going to be a beaut!

    1. So right Lynne! Easier on the pocket book at the time too:) It does show off the movement nicely, doesn't it. Have a great weekend!

  4. Darling Danette,

Oh, beautiful Braslian (in Portuguese we spell it with an "s" not a "z"). Such a sexy language. In my estimation even more beautiful than straight Portuguese because of the accent.

Minha vida de campo My life in a field (meadow)
Hello, your scarf is beautiful and the color is very beautiful. Have a great weekend.

    xxxooo Genie

    1. Thank You So Much for the translation Genie!
What a lovely language! How wonderful to be able to speak it :)

  5. Hey Danette.... You've chosen the most beautiful yarn colour for your scarf.... I love the open crochet stitches... Gorgeous !!!!

    1. Thank you Zaa!
It's almost finished. I have started the same pattern in a couple more colorways. Very pretty! Love the unusual pattern.

  6. Maybe you just need to find a bunch of people who only ever have one hand that gets cold. Then you'd be done with the mitts.

Thank you for taking time to chat with me ~
Your comments make me so Happy!
Have a lovely day.
