I live walking distance from our local library where my first born daughter is a librarian :-)
My husband likes the news too and, like you, I have to take it in small doses, leaving the room at times... doing laundry in the basement, etc. It's not that I don't want to stay somewhat informed but I am hypersensitive and will lay awake all night long sometimes in sadness over the state of things. Scott keeps me informed and I turn it into prayer but I don't always need the grisly details. The Philippians passage has always been my very favorite and probably the very first verse I memorized when I was newly saved at the age of 16.
Many Blessings to you and yours,
DanetteDanette Bartelmayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12610193916999812047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655853883628716730.post-1754068504835902262016-07-19T17:35:43.474-05:002016-07-19T17:35:43.474-05:00Your pictures are beautiful. I am fine without TV, but my husband likes watching the news. Sometimes it gets all too much, and I have to put in my earplugs and not listen!! That passage from Philippians is one of my favorites.Deborah Montgomeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04366855994841922862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655853883628716730.post-80236847603575970922016-07-19T17:15:57.191-05:002016-07-19T17:15:57.191-05:00Thank you Toni. If I never tuned into television one more time I wouldn't even think about it, let alone miss it. Good for you!
I have never touched it when I'm home alone. Not even when my husband has been gone on fishing or hunting trips for days or a whole week. It never occurs to me to turn it on. When my hands are busy with housework or knitting I listen to an audiobook.
Happy week to you!
DanetteDanette Bartelmayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12610193916999812047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655853883628716730.post-45815663436725657812016-07-19T14:58:59.823-05:002016-07-19T14:58:59.823-05:00Lovely post, Danette. And I whole-heartedly agree that reading is a more peaceful pursuit. We gave up television about fifteen years ago and have not missed it one time. :)
Happy day to you!magnoliasnteahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08517995125207145961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7655853883628716730.post-60204262019057397942016-07-19T11:40:25.126-05:002016-07-19T11:40:25.126-05:00Thank you so much Sweet Beca.
