Happy Little Knitter

The New Year entered my world on a cold day yesterday at a mere 15 degrees.
My original plan was to...
 stay snuggled up in my flannel jammies
{the ones with snowflakes all over them}
drink steaming hot tea
watch movies with Hubby
&
Knit
And with that last thought my sanity came back
 full force
and I remembered there was a
BIG SALE
from only 12 to 5
at the
Yarn Shop!
So the jammies were thrown aside
{as was poor Hubby!}
and off I trotted to jockey for position
before things got too picked over.
Whew!
What a madhouse it was.
It is on the same street where I live
{I know ~ Pure Heaven}
It takes me 3 minutes to get there.
And the rest of the day to leave :)

I started these fingerless mitts for daughter #1
~Hilary~
before
Christmas
So where is the other one?
It was at the Yarn Shop!
Although this is a 100g hank of
Berroco Vintage
{wonderfully soft and machine washable}
 with 217 yards,
when I weighed the first mitt
then placed what was left of the yarn on the scale ~
I was 4 grams short!
Oh well....
Who doesn't
Love
 a reason to shop for more
yarn?!
Plus I treated myself to a lovely shade of green in the same yarn
and
3 skeins of
Frog Tree Alpaca

Needless to say
I was one
Happy Little Knitter

This darling pin was a Christmas gift from Hubby a few years ago.
He knows how to keep me happy too.

  1. Sounds like a good reason not to hang out in the jammies all day. And to have a yarn shop on the same street you live on! Heaven!!!

    1. It IS Heaven! They originally opened just across the street and a few doors up. I was the very first customer in the door ~ go figure! But they quickly outgrew that tiny spot & moved the other direction but still on the same street :)

  4. If I lived a few doors away from the yarn shop I probably wouldn't have bothered getting out of my PJs. Just a pair of trainers and a coat and away I go ..hehehe

    I do like your little brooch. So apt for us fibre lovers :)

      They probably wouldn't bat an eye if I did show up in my jammies at the yarn shop as I am a permanent fixture there :)
      And yes the pin is perfect for us fibre lovers indeed!

  10. There is no better reason to cast aside jammies than a yarn sale. It looks like you made off like a bandit.
