It's Time!

I'm SO
EXCITED!
The time has finally come
for me to
choose
&
reveal
a

So ~
First I wrote down all the names on little pieces of paper
Then I folded them tight
&
 tossed them into a bowl
And I grabbed my sweet little granddaughter
Gabriella
Who was more than happy to choose a piece of paper
Don't you love the chipped up nailpolish?!
OH!
Back to business ~
Hmmmmm.......
Whose name did she pull out?
Well ~
Let's see.....
Looks like the
WINNER
is
SARAH
from

CONGRATULATIONS
Sweet Sarah!

Hmmm......
now... what to make?
You want something in
pink
either
knitted
or
crocheted
And any fiber will work.
Okie Dokie Girlie!
My creative wheels are turning :)))

And thanks so much to all of you for joining in the FUN!
I really enjoyed it.
So much so that I can't wait to do it again!

Wrapsody

I admit it ...
I have a real
thing
for Wraps!
I love making them whether they are
crocheted
or
knitted.
This one I crocheted in
pink
as a Christmas gift to my daughter
Chelsea
a few years ago.
I made an identical one the same year in
green
for my daughter
Hilary.
This is one I
knitted
for Chelsea also.
It's very cute either way it's worn.
And the pattern was so simple.
Here's one of my all time favorite
crocheted
wraps!
I have made so many of these.
This is my last remaining one for sale on my

And then there's the latest
crocheted
Granny Square Shawl
I recently made for display purposes at my LYS
Eweniquie Yarns

yarn
to make :)))
Well ~
That's a

I Believe in Roses

"I beleive in
roses.
Oh God, yes!
I do believe in
roses!
And I believe in lots
and lots
and lots
of them, too!"
C. JoyBell C.

Well ...
SO DO I!
I recently found this
gorgeous
antique bowl at a local shop.
The minute I entered the store
it beckoned to my soul from a corner of the room.
I just love the fact that its footed.
And, of course, it is
covered
in
roses!

"I'd love to have the whole place swimming in roses."
James Joyce
Ulysses
Then to my utter delight ~
I turned the corner and there were
more
roses!
So...
She had to come home with me too!
Because I truly do love to have the whole place
swimming in
roses!
And to add to my
sheer delight ~
they were having a sale!
I have a real passion
for plates hanging on my walls.
Especially those with
my beloved
roses
My dear Mother~In~Law
is a China Painting Artist.
She painted the large plate at the very top
&
the one just below it
in the center.
I love them!
For me
roses
can come in any form.

rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

Mermaid Scarf

FINALLY!
Not only am I able to post pictures again,
{turns out it was a Mega Blonde Issue}
but I also
~Finally~
finished this
Crocheted Scarf.
The pattern calls it a "boteh scarf".
Ick!
I renamed it because it looks like a
Mermaid Tail
 in
Ocean Waves
 to me for some reason.
This was a birthday gift for
My Sweet Friend
Amy
She loved it!
 It took 2 hanks of
Knit Picks
Imagination Yarn
in the color.....
Mermaid Lagoon.
Perfect for a pattern that resembles a mermaid tail

Happy Little Knitter

The New Year entered my world on a cold day yesterday at a mere 15 degrees.
My original plan was to...
stay snuggled up in my flannel jammies
{the ones with snowflakes all over them}
drink steaming hot tea
watch movies with Hubby
&
Knit
And with that last thought my sanity came back
 full force
and I remembered there was a
BIG SALE
from only 12 to 5
at the
Yarn Shop!
So the jammies were thrown aside
{as was poor Hubby!}
and off I trotted to jockey for position
before things got too picked over.
Whew!
What a madhouse it was.
It is on the same street where I live
{I know ~ Pure Heaven}
It takes me 3 minutes to get there.
And the rest of the day to leave :)

I started these fingerless mitts for daughter #1
~Hilary~
before
Christmas
So where is the other one?
It was at the Yarn Shop!
Although this is a 100g hank of
Berroco Vintage
{wonderfully soft and machine washable}
 with 217 yards,
when I weighed the first mitt
then placed what was left of the yarn on the scale ~
I was 4 grams short!
Oh well....
Who doesn't
Love
a reason to shop for more
yarn?!
Plus I treated myself to a lovely shade of green in the same yarn
and
3 skeins of
Frog Tree Alpaca

Needless to say
I was one
Happy Little Knitter

This darling pin was a Christmas gift from Hubby a few years ago.
He knows how to keep me happy too.
